ਭੈਭ੍ਰਮਬਿਨਸਿਗਏਖਿਨਮਾਹਿ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਸਹਿਮ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Their fears and doubts are dispelled in an instant.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁਵਸਿਆਮਨਿਆਇ॥੧॥
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
The Supreme Lord God comes to dwell in their minds. ||1||
ਰਾਮਰਾਮਸੰਤਸਦਾਸਹਾਇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੈ।
The Lord is forever the Help and Support of the Saints.
ਘਰਿਬਾਹਰਿਨਾਲੇਪਰਮੇਸਰੁਰਵਿਰਹਿਆਪੂਰਨਸਭਠਾਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਉਹ ਸਭਨੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਘਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ) ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Inside the home of the heart, and outside as well, the Transcendent Lord is always with us, permeating and pervading all places. ||1||Pause||
ਧਨੁਮਾਲੁਜੋਬਨੁਜੁਗਤਿਗੋਪਾਲ॥
(ਸੇਵਕ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਧਨ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮਾਲ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਊਣ ਦੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਜਾਚ ਹੈ।
The Lord of the World is my wealth, property, youth and ways and means.
ਜੀਅਪ੍ਰਾਣਨਿਤਸੁਖਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He continually cherishes and brings peace to my soul and breath of life.
ਅਪਨੇਦਾਸਕਉਦੇਰਾਖੈਹਾਥ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He reaches out with His Hand and saves His slave.
ਨਿਮਖਨਛੋਡੈਸਦਹੀਸਾਥ॥੨॥
ਉਹ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦਾ, ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
He does not abandon us, even for an instant; He is always with us. ||2||
ਹਰਿਸਾਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁਅਵਰੁਨਕੋਇ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਰਗਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
There is no other Beloved like the Lord.
ਸਾਰਿਸਮੑਾਲੇਸਾਚਾਸੋਇ॥
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬੜੇ ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ (ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The True Lord takes care of all.
ਮਾਤਪਿਤਾਸੁਤਬੰਧੁਨਰਾਇਣੁ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਪਿਉ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ ਹੈ।
The Lord is our Mother, Father, Son and Relation.
ਆਦਿਜੁਗਾਦਿਭਗਤਗੁਣਗਾਇਣੁ॥੩॥
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਭਗਤ (ਉਸ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
Since the beginning of time, and throughout the ages, His devotees sing His Glorious Praises. ||3||
ਤਿਸਕੀਧਰਪ੍ਰਭਕਾਮਨਿਜੋਰੁ॥
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਤਾਣ ਹੈ।
My mind is filled with the Support and the Power of the Lord.
ਏਕਬਿਨਾਦੂਜਾਨਹੀਹੋਰੁ॥
ਉਹ ਇੱਕ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੱਕਦੇ।
Without the Lord, there is no other at all.
ਨਾਨਕਕੈਮਨਿਇਹੁਪੁਰਖਾਰਥੁ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਭੀ) ਇਹੀ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਹੈ,
Nanak's mind is encouraged by this hope,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂਹਮਾਰਾਸਾਰੇਸੁਆਰਥੁ॥੪॥੩੮॥੫੧॥
ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਡਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਸੁਆਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩੮॥੫੧॥
that God will accomplish my objectives in life. ||4||38||51||
ਭੈਰਉਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Bhairao, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਭੈਕਉਭਉਪੜਿਆਸਿਮਰਤਹਰਿਨਾਮ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਡਰ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਡਰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ)।
Fear itself becomes afraid, when the mortal remembers the Lord's Name in meditation.
ਸਗਲਬਿਆਧਿਮਿਟੀਤ੍ਰਿਹੁਗੁਣਕੀਦਾਸਕੇਹੋਏਪੂਰਨਕਾਮ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ (ਭਗਤ ਜਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
All the diseases of the three gunas - the three qualities - are cured, and tasks of the Lord's slaves are perfectly accomplished. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿਕੇਲੋਕਸਦਾਗੁਣਗਾਵਹਿਤਿਨਕਉਮਿਲਿਆਪੂਰਨਧਾਮ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The people of the Lord always sing His Glorious Praises; they attain His Perfect Mansion.
ਜਨਕਾਦਰਸੁਬਾਂਛੈਦਿਨਰਾਤੀਹੋਇਪੁਨੀਤਧਰਮਰਾਇਜਾਮ॥੧॥
ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਭੀ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਰਸਨ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ) ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Even the Righteous Judge of Dharma and the Messenger of Death yearn, day and night, to be sanctified by the Blessed Vision of the Lord's humble servant. ||1||
ਕਾਮਕ੍ਰੋਧਲੋਭਮਦਨਿੰਦਾਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਮਿਟਿਆਅਭਿਮਾਨ॥
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ (ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Sexual desire, anger, intoxication, egotism, slander and egotistical pride are eradicated in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਐਸੇਸੰਤਭੇਟਹਿਵਡਭਾਗੀਨਾਨਕਤਿਨਕੈਸਦਕੁਰਬਾਨ॥੨॥੩੯॥੫੨॥
ਪਰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੩੯॥੫੨॥
By great good fortune, such Saints are met. Nanak is forever a sacrifice to them. ||2||39||52||
ਭੈਰਉਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Bhairao, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਪੰਚਮਜਮੀਜੋਪੰਚਨਰਾਖੈ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜ ਪੀਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਪਾਸਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਾਂਭੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
One who harbors the five thieves, becomes the embodiment of these five.
ਮਿਥਿਆਰਸਨਾਨਿਤਉਠਿਭਾਖੈ॥
ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਗਿਣ-ਮਿਥ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
He gets up each day and tells lies.
ਚਕ੍ਰਬਣਾਇਕਰੈਪਾਖੰਡ॥
(ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਉੱਤੇ) ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਖਾਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
He applies ceremonial religious marks to his body, but practices hypocrisy.
ਝੁਰਿਝੁਰਿਪਚੈਜੈਸੇਤ੍ਰਿਅਰੰਡ॥੧॥
ਉਹ (ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ) ਅੰਦਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਤਰਲੈ ਲੈ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸੜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
He wastes away in sadness and pain, like a lonely widow. ||1||
ਹਰਿਕੇਨਾਮਬਿਨਾਸਭਝੂਠੁ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਹੋਰ) ਸਾਰੀ (ਵਿਖਾਵੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ) ਝੂਠਾ ਉੱਦਮ ਹੈ।
Without the Name of the Lord, everything is false.
ਬਿਨੁਗੁਰਪੂਰੇਮੁਕਤਿਨਪਾਈਐਸਾਚੀਦਰਗਹਸਾਕਤਮੂਠੁ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਣ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ। ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਠੱਗੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਜ ਚੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Without the Perfect Guru, liberation is not obtained. In the Court of the True Lord, the faithless cynic is plundered. ||1||Pause||
ਸੋਈਕੁਚੀਲੁਕੁਦਰਤਿਨਹੀਜਾਨੈ॥
ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੰਦੀ ਰਹਿਣੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਵਿਚ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ।
One who does not know the Lord's Creative Power is polluted.
ਲੀਪਿਐਥਾਇਨਸੁਚਿਹਰਿਮਾਨੈ॥
ਜੇ ਬਾਹਰਲਾ ਚੌਕਾ ਲਿਪਿਆ ਜਾਏ (ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਬਾਹਰਲੀ ਸੁੱਚ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸੁੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ।
Ritualistically plastering one's kitchen square does not make it pure in the Eyes of the Lord.
ਅੰਤਰੁਮੈਲਾਬਾਹਰੁਨਿਤਧੋਵੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ (ਸੁੱਚ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਸਦਾ ਧੋਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
If a person is polluted within, he may wash himself everyday on the outside,
ਸਾਚੀਦਰਗਹਅਪਨੀਪਤਿਖੋਵੈ॥੨॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
but in the Court of the True Lord, he forfeits his honor. ||2||
ਮਾਇਆਕਾਰਣਿਕਰੈਉਪਾਉ॥
(ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਵਿਖਾਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਇਆ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ (ਭੇਖ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਚ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ) ਹੀਲਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
He works for the sake of Maya,
ਕਬਹਿਨਘਾਲੈਸੀਧਾਪਾਉ॥
ਪਰ (ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ) ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਪੈਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਧਰਦਾ।
but he never places his feet on the right path.
ਜਿਨਿਕੀਆਤਿਸੁਚੀਤਿਨਆਣੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਾਂਦਾ।
He never even remembers the One who created him.
ਕੂੜੀਕੂੜੀਮੁਖਹੁਵਖਾਣੈ॥੩॥
(ਹਾਂ) ਝੂਠ-ਮੂਠ (ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੱਗਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮੂੰਹੋਂ (ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ) ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
He speaks falsehood, only falsehood, with his mouth. ||3||
ਜਿਸਨੋਕਰਮੁਕਰੇਕਰਤਾਰੁ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ-ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
That person, unto whom the Creator Lord shows Mercy,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਹੋਇਤਿਸੁਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ॥
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਬਹਿਣ-ਖਲੋਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
deals with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਹਰਿਨਾਮਭਗਤਿਸਿਉਲਾਗਾਰੰਗੁ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who lovingly worships the Lord's Name,
ਕਹੁਨਾਨਕਤਿਸੁਜਨਨਹੀਭੰਗੁ॥੪॥੪੦॥੫੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ) ਤੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ॥੪॥੪੦॥੫੩॥
says Nanak - no obstacles ever block his way. ||4||40||53||

ਨਿੰਦਕਕਉਫਿਟਕੇਸੰਸਾਰੁ॥
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਫਿਟਕਾਰਾਂ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
The entire universe curses the slanderer.
ਨਿੰਦਕਕਾਝੂਠਾਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਗਤ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਕਸਬ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੈ।
False are the dealings of the slanderer.
ਨਿੰਦਕਕਾਮੈਲਾਆਚਾਰੁ॥
(ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾ ਲਾ ਕੇ) ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਚਰਨ ਹੀ ਗੰਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer's lifestyle is filthy and polluted.
ਦਾਸਅਪੁਨੇਕਉਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ॥੧॥
ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਤੋਂ) ਆਪ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
The Lord is the Saving Grace and the Protector of His slave. ||1||
ਨਿੰਦਕੁਮੁਆਨਿੰਦਕਕੈਨਾਲਿ॥
(ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਹਬਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The slanderer dies with the rest of the slanderers.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਪਰਮੇਸਰਿਜਨਰਾਖੇਨਿੰਦਕਕੈਸਿਰਿਕੜਕਿਓਕਾਲੁ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ) ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਹਮਤਾਂ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ (ਸਦਾ) ਗੱਜਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, protects and saves His humble servant. Death roars and thunders over the head of the slanderer. ||1||Pause||
