ਮੂਲਬਿਨਾਸਾਖਾਕਤਆਹੈ॥੧॥
(ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਤਾਂਘ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਉਸ ਉਤੇ) ਕੋਈ ਟਹਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਉੱਗ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੧॥
but without roots, how can there be any branches? ||1||
ਗੁਰੁਗੋਵਿੰਦੁਮੇਰੇਮਨਧਿਆਇ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ।
O my mind, meditate on the Guru, the Lord of the Universe.
ਜਨਮਜਨਮਕੀਮੈਲੁਉਤਾਰੈਬੰਧਨਕਾਟਿਹਰਿਸੰਗਿਮਿਲਾਇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਏਹ ਸਿਮਰਨ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
The filth of countless incarnations shall be washed away. Breaking your bonds, you shall be united with the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਤੀਰਥਿਨਾਇਕਹਾਸੁਚਿਸੈਲੁ॥
ਪੱਥਰ (ਪੱਥਰ-ਦਿਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਤੀਰਥ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ,
How can a stone be purified by bathing at a sacred shrine of pilgrimage?
ਮਨਕਉਵਿਆਪੈਹਉਮੈਮੈਲੁ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਇਹੀ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਚੰਬੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੀਰਥ-ਜਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਕਰ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ)।
The filth of egotism clings to the mind.
ਕੋਟਿਕਰਮਬੰਧਨਕਾਮੂਲੁ॥
(ਤੀਰਥ-ਜਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ) ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮ (ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀਆਂ) ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਦਾ (ਹੀ) ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
Millions of rituals and actions taken are the root of entanglements.
ਹਰਿਕੇਭਜਨਬਿਨੁਬਿਰਥਾਪੂਲੁ॥੨॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਇਹ ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ) ਵਿਅਰਥ ਪੰਡ ਹੀ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
Without meditating and vibrating on the Lord, the mortal gathers only worthless bundles of straw. ||2||
ਬਿਨੁਖਾਏਬੂਝੈਨਹੀਭੂਖ॥
(ਭੋਜਨ) ਖਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਪੇਟ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ (ਦੀ ਅੱਗ) ਨਹੀਂ ਬੁੱਝਦੀ।
Without eating, hunger is not satisfied.
ਰੋਗੁਜਾਇਤਾਂਉਤਰਹਿਦੂਖ॥
(ਰੋਗ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ) ਸਰੀਰਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੇ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ।
When the disease is cured, then the pain goes away.
ਕਾਮਕ੍ਰੋਧਲੋਭਮੋਹਿਬਿਆਪਿਆ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
The mortal is engrossed in sexual desire, anger, greed and attachment.
ਜਿਨਿਪ੍ਰਭਿਕੀਨਾਸੋਪ੍ਰਭੁਨਹੀਜਾਪਿਆ॥੩॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਪਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
He does not meditate on God, that God who created him. ||3||
ਧਨੁਧਨੁਸਾਧਧੰਨੁਹਰਿਨਾਉ॥
ਉਹ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ,
Blessed, blessed is the Holy Saint, and blessed is the Name of the Lord.
ਆਠਪਹਰਕੀਰਤਨੁਗੁਣਗਾਉ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Twenty-four hours a day, sing the Kirtan, the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਧਨੁਹਰਿਭਗਤਿਧਨੁਕਰਣੈਹਾਰ॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਧਨ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਨ (ਸਦਾ ਮੌਜੂਦ) ਹੈ,
Blessed is the devotee of the Lord, and blessed is the Creator Lord.
ਸਰਣਿਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰਭਪੁਰਖਅਪਾਰ॥੪॥੩੨॥੪੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੩੨॥੪੫॥
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God, the Primal, the Infinite. ||4||32||45||
ਭੈਰਉਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Bhairao, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਗੁਰਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਹੋਏਭਉਗਏ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
When the Guru was totally pleased, my fear was taken away.
ਨਾਮਨਿਰੰਜਨਮਨਮਹਿਲਏ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਮਾਇਆ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
I enshrine the Name of the Immaculate Lord within my mind.
ਦੀਨਦਇਆਲਸਦਾਕਿਰਪਾਲ॥
ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
He is Merciful to the meek, forever Compassionate.
ਬਿਨਸਿਗਏਸਗਲੇਜੰਜਾਲ॥੧॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
All my entanglements are finished. ||1||
ਸੂਖਸਹਜਆਨੰਦਘਨੇ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਬੜੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
I have found peace, poise, and myriads of pleasures.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿਮਿਟੇਭੈਭਰਮਾਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁਹਰਿਹਰਿਰਸਨਭਨੇ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਵਹਿਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਆਮਤਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, fear and doubt are dispelled. My tongue chants the Ambrosial Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||
ਚਰਨਕਮਲਸਿਉਲਾਗੋਹੇਤੁ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
I have fallen in love with the Lord's Lotus Feet.
ਖਿਨਮਹਿਬਿਨਸਿਓਮਹਾਪਰੇਤੁ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ (ਖੋਟਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ-ਰੂਪ) ਵੱਡਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
In an instant, the terrible demons are destroyed.
ਆਠਪਹਰਹਰਿਹਰਿਜਪੁਜਾਪਿ॥
ਤੂੰ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ,
Twenty-four hours a day, I meditate and chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰਗੋਵਿਦਗੁਰਆਪਿ॥੨॥
ਸਭ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਆਪ (ਤੇਰੀ ਭੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੇਗਾ) ॥੨॥
The Guru is Himself the Savior Lord, the Lord of the Universe. ||2||
ਅਪਨੇਸੇਵਕਕਉਸਦਾਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੈ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
He Himself cherishes His servant forever.
ਭਗਤਜਨਾਕੇਸਾਸਨਿਹਾਰੈ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਬੜੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
He watches over every breath of His humble devotee.
ਮਾਨਸਕੀਕਹੁਕੇਤਕਬਾਤ॥
ਦੱਸ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੀਹ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ?
Tell me, what is the nature of human beings?
ਜਮਤੇਰਾਖੈਦੇਕਰਿਹਾਥ॥੩॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਜਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਭੀ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
The Lord extends His Hand, and saves them from the Messenger of Death. ||3||
ਨਿਰਮਲਸੋਭਾਨਿਰਮਲਰੀਤਿ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਬੇ-ਦਾਗ਼ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
Immaculate is the Glory, and Immaculate is the way of life,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁਆਇਆਮਨਿਚੀਤਿ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
of those who remember the Supreme Lord God in their minds.
ਕਰਿਕਿਰਪਾਗੁਰਿਦੀਨੋਦਾਨੁ॥
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ,
The Guru, in His Mercy, has granted this Gift.
ਨਾਨਕਪਾਇਆਨਾਮੁਨਿਧਾਨੁ॥੪॥੩੩॥੪੬॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੪੬॥
Nanak has obtained the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||33||46||
ਭੈਰਉਮਹਲਾ੫॥

ਕਰਣਕਾਰਣਸਮਰਥੁਗੁਰੁਮੇਰਾ॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ,
My Guru is the All-powerful Lord, the Creator, the Cause of causes.
ਜੀਅਪ੍ਰਾਣਸੁਖਦਾਤਾਨੇਰਾ॥
(ਸਭ ਨੂੰ) ਜਿੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ (ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ)।
He is the Soul, the Breath of Life, the Giver of Peace, always near.
ਭੈਭੰਜਨਅਬਿਨਾਸੀਰਾਇ॥
ਉਹ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਨਾਸ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ,
He is the Destroyer of fear, the Eternal, Unchanging, Sovereign Lord King.
ਦਰਸਨਿਦੇਖਿਐਸਭੁਦੁਖੁਜਾਇ॥੧॥
ਜੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, (ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all fear is dispelled. ||1||
ਜਤਕਤਪੇਖਉਤੇਰੀਸਰਣਾ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Wherever I look, is the Protection of Your Sanctuary.
ਬਲਿਬਲਿਜਾਈਸਤਿਗੁਰਚਰਣਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to the Feet of the True Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਪੂਰਨਕਾਮਮਿਲੇਗੁਰਦੇਵ॥
ਗੁਰਦੇਵ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਾਮਨਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
My tasks are perfectly accomplished, meeting the Divine Guru.
ਸਭਿਫਲਦਾਤਾਨਿਰਮਲਸੇਵ॥
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
He is the Giver of all rewards. Serving Him, I am immaculate.
ਕਰੁਗਹਿਲੀਨੇਅਪੁਨੇਦਾਸ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
He reaches out with His Hand to His slaves.
ਰਾਮਨਾਮੁਰਿਦਦੀਓਨਿਵਾਸ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਟਿਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
The Name of the Lord abides in their hearts. ||2||
ਸਦਾਅਨੰਦੁਨਾਹੀਕਿਛੁਸੋਗੁ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਟਿਕਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਗ਼ਮ (ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ)।
They are forever in bliss, and do not suffer at all.
ਦੂਖੁਦਰਦੁਨਹਬਿਆਪੈਰੋਗੁ॥
ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਕੋਈ ਦਰਦ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਗ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
No pain, sorrow or disease afflicts them.
ਸਭੁਕਿਛੁਤੇਰਾਤੂਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ॥
(ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
Everything is Yours, O Creator Lord.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਗੁਰਅਗਮਅਪਾਰ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ! ਹੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ! ॥੩॥
The Guru is the Supreme Lord God, the Inaccessible and Infinite. ||3||
ਨਿਰਮਲਸੋਭਾਅਚਰਜਬਾਣੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੇ-ਦਾਗ਼ ਸੋਭਾ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਸਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਵਿਸਮਾਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ-
His Glorious Grandeur is immaculate, and the Bani of His Word is wonderful!
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਪੂਰਨਮਨਿਭਾਣੀ॥
ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The Perfect Supreme Lord God is pleasing to my mind.
ਜਲਿਥਲਿਮਹੀਅਲਿਰਵਿਆਸੋਇ॥
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਥਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ
He is permeating the waters, the lands and the skies.
ਨਾਨਕਸਭੁਕਿਛੁਪ੍ਰਭਤੇਹੋਇ॥੪॥੩੪॥੪੭॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੩੪॥੪੭॥
O Nanak, everything comes from God. ||4||34||47||

ਮਨੁਤਨੁਰਾਤਾਰਾਮਰੰਗਿਚਰਣੇ॥
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
My mind and body are imbued with the Love of the Lord's Feet.
