Fifth Mahalaa:
ਸੁਖਸਮੂਹਾਭੋਗਭੂਮਿਸਬਾਈਕੋਧਣੀ॥
ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਹੋਣ, ਜੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਵੇ,
Even if one were to enjoy all pleasures, and be master of the entire earth,
ਨਾਨਕਹਭੋਰੋਗੁਮਿਰਤਕਨਾਮਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ॥੨॥
(ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਰੋਗ (ਸਮਾਨ) ਹਨ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਮੁਰਦਿਹਾਣ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੨॥
O Nanak, all of that is just a disease. Without the Naam, he is dead. ||2||

Fifth Mahalaa:
ਹਿਕਸਕੂੰਤੂਆਹਿਪਛਾਣੂਭੀਹਿਕੁਕਰਿ॥
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਰੱਖ, ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾ,
Yearn for the One Lord, and make Him your friend.
ਨਾਨਕਆਸੜੀਨਿਬਾਹਿਮਾਨੁਖਪਰਥਾਈਲਜੀਵਦੋ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਲੱਜਾ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
O Nanak, He alone fulfills your hopes; you should feel embarrassed, visiting other places. ||3||
ਪਉੜੀ॥
Pauree:
ਨਿਹਚਲੁਏਕੁਨਰਾਇਣੋਹਰਿਅਗਮਅਗਾਧਾ॥
ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਅਥਾਹ ਹਰੀ-ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
The One and only Lord is eternal, imperishable, inaccessible and incomprehensible.
ਨਿਹਚਲੁਨਾਮੁਨਿਧਾਨੁਹੈਜਿਸੁਸਿਮਰਤਹਰਿਲਾਧਾ॥
ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਭੀ ਅਮੁੱਕ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਲੱਭ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The treasure of the Naam is eternal and imperishable. Meditating in remembrance on Him, the Lord is attained.
ਨਿਹਚਲੁਕੀਰਤਨੁਗੁਣਗੋਬਿੰਦਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਗਾਵਾਧਾ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਗਾਂਵਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਭੀ (ਐਸਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Kirtan of His Praises is eternal and imperishable; the Gurmukh sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਸਚੁਧਰਮੁਤਪੁਨਿਹਚਲੋਦਿਨੁਰੈਨਿਅਰਾਧਾ॥
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਧਰਮ ਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਪ।
Truth, righteousness, Dharma and intense meditation are eternal and imperishable. Day and night, worship the Lord in adoration.
ਦਇਆਧਰਮੁਤਪੁਨਿਹਚਲੋਜਿਸੁਕਰਮਿਲਿਖਾਧਾ॥
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਅਟੱਲ ਤਪ ਦਇਆ ਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Compassion, righteousness, Dharma and intense meditation are eternal and imperishable; they alone obtain these, who have such pre-ordained destiny.
ਨਿਹਚਲੁਮਸਤਕਿਲੇਖੁਲਿਖਿਆਸੋਟਲੈਨਟਲਾਧਾ॥
ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਲੇਖ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਟਾਲਿਆਂ ਟਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
The inscription inscribed upon one's forehead is eternal and imperishable; it cannot be avoided by avoidance.
ਨਿਹਚਲਸੰਗਤਿਸਾਧਜਨਬਚਨਨਿਹਚਲੁਗੁਰਸਾਧਾ॥
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ (ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਇਕ) ਅਟੱਲ (ਰਸਤਾ) ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਾਧ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਭੀ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਅਟੱਲ (ਬੋਲ) ਹਨ।
The Congregation, the Company of the Holy, and the word of the humble, are eternal and imperishable. The Holy Guru is eternal and imperishable.
ਜਿਨਕਉਪੂਰਬਿਲਿਖਿਆਤਿਨਸਦਾਸਦਾਆਰਾਧਾ॥੧੯॥
ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਉੱਘੜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯॥
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny worship and adore the Lord, forever and ever. ||19||
ਸਲੋਕਡਖਣੇਮਃ੫॥
Shalok, Dakhanay, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਜੋਡੁਬੰਦੋਆਪਿਸੋਤਰਾਏਕਿਨੑਖੇ॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
One who himself has drowned - how can he carry anyone else across?
ਤਾਰੇਦੜੋਭੀਤਾਰਿਨਾਨਕਪਿਰਸਿਉਰਤਿਆ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਤੀ-ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ) ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਠਿੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਆਪ ਭੀ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
One who is imbued with the Love of the Husband Lord - O Nanak, he himself is saved, and he saves others as well. ||1||

Fifth Mahalaa:
ਜਿਥੈਕੋਇਕਥੰਨਿਨਾਉਸੁਣੰਦੋਮਾਪਿਰੀ॥
ਜਿਸ ਥਾਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਬੰਦੇ) ਮੇਰੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਣ, ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਉਥੇ (ਚੱਲ ਕੇ) ਜਾਵਾਂ।
Wherever someone speaks and hears the Name of my Beloved Lord,
ਮੂੰਜੁਲਾਊਂਤਥਿਨਾਨਕਪਿਰੀਪਸੰਦੋਹਰਿਓਥੀਓਸਿ॥੨॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਪਿਰ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਾ) ਹਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥
that is where I go, O Nanak, to see Him, and blossom forth in bliss. ||2||

ਮੇਰੀਮੇਰੀਕਿਆਕਰਹਿਪੁਤ੍ਰਕਲਤ੍ਰਸਨੇਹ॥
ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਇਹ ਆਖੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ?
You are in love with your children and your wife; why do you keep calling them your own?
ਨਾਨਕਨਾਮਵਿਹੂਣੀਆਨਿਮੁਣੀਆਦੀਦੇਹ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ (ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਇਗਾ) ॥੩॥
O Nanak, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the human body has no foundation. ||3||
ਪਉੜੀ॥
Pauree:
ਨੈਨੀਦੇਖਉਗੁਰਦਰਸਨੋਗੁਰਚਰਣੀਮਥਾ॥
ਮੈਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਆਪਣਾ ਮੱਥਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
With my eyes, I gaze upon the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan; I touch my forehead to the Guru's feet.
ਪੈਰੀਮਾਰਗਿਗੁਰਚਲਦਾਪਖਾਫੇਰੀਹਥਾ॥
ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ) ਪੱਖਾ ਝੱਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
With my feet I walk on the Guru's Path; with my hands, I wave the fan over Him.
ਅਕਾਲਮੂਰਤਿਰਿਦੈਧਿਆਇਦਾਦਿਨੁਰੈਨਿਜਪੰਥਾ॥
(ਇਸ ਸੰਜਮ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਜਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I meditate on Akaal Moorat, the undying form, within my heart; day and night, I meditate on Him.
ਮੈਛਡਿਆਸਗਲਅਪਾਇਣੋਭਰਵਾਸੈਗੁਰਸਮਰਥਾ॥
ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ ਸਰਧਾ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਅਪਣੱਤ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
I have renounced all possessiveness, and have placed my faith in the all-powerful Guru.
ਗੁਰਿਬਖਸਿਆਨਾਮੁਨਿਧਾਨੁਸਭੋਦੁਖੁਲਥਾ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਹੁਣ) ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਲਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Guru has blessed me with the treasure of the Naam; I am rid of all sufferings.
ਭੋਗਹੁਭੁੰਚਹੁਭਾਈਹੋਪਲੈਨਾਮੁਅਗਥਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਰਾਵੋ! (ਤੁਸੀਂ ਭੀ) ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ (ਖੁਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਿਲ) ਵਰਤੋ, ਤੇ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰੋ।
Eat and enjoy the Naam, the Name of the indescribable Lord, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਨਾਮੁਦਾਨੁਇਸਨਾਨੁਦਿੜੁਸਦਾਕਰਹੁਗੁਰਕਥਾ॥
ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਕਰੋ, ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ, ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਚਰਨ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਓ।
Confirm your faith in the Naam, charity and self-purification; chant the Guru's sermon forever.
ਸਹਜੁਭਇਆਪ੍ਰਭੁਪਾਇਆਜਮਕਾਭਉਲਥਾ॥੨੦॥
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ) ਮਨ ਦੀ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਫਿਰ) ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਭੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕ ਸਕਦੀ) ॥੨੦॥
Blessed with intuitive poise, I have found God; I am rid of the fear of the Messenger of Death. ||20||
ਸਲੋਕਡਖਣੇਮਃ੫॥
Shalok, Dakhanay, Fifth Mahalaa:
ਲਗੜੀਆਪਿਰੀਅੰਨਿਪੇਖੰਦੀਆਨਾਤਿਪੀਆ॥
(ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ) ਪਤੀ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ (ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰੱਜਦੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ (ਅੱਕਦੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ)।
I am centered and focused on my Beloved, but I am not satisfied, even by seeing Him.
ਹਭਮਝਾਹੂਸੋਧਣੀਬਿਆਨਡਿਠੋਕੋਇ॥੧॥
ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ), (ਮੈਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ॥੧॥
The Lord and Master is within all; I do not see any other. ||1||

Fifth Mahalaa:
ਕਥੜੀਆਸੰਤਾਹਤੇਸੁਖਾਊਪੰਧੀਆ॥
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼-ਮਈ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਖਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਹਨ;
The sayings of the Saints are the paths of peace.
ਨਾਨਕਲਧੜੀਆਤਿੰਨਾਹਜਿਨਾਭਾਗੁਮਥਾਹੜੈ॥੨॥
(ਪਰ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਭਲੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਭਾਗ (ਉੱਘੜਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥
O Nanak, they alone obtain them, upon whose foreheads such destiny is written. ||2||

ਡੂੰਗਰਿਜਲਾਥਲਾਭੂਮਿਬਨਾਫਲਕੰਦਰਾ॥
ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਰੇਤਲੇ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ, ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਫਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਗੁਫ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ,
He is totally permeating the mountains, oceans, deserts, lands, forests, orchards, caves,
ਪਾਤਾਲਾਆਕਾਸਪੂਰਨੁਹਭਘਟਾ॥
ਪਾਤਾਲ ਆਕਾਸ ਵਿਚ-ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਸਰੀਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
the nether regions of the underworld, the Akaashic ethers of the skies, and all hearts.
ਨਾਨਕਪੇਖਿਜੀਓਇਕਤੁਸੂਤਿਪਰੋਤੀਆ॥੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਸਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਨੂੰ) ਇਕੋ ਧਾਗੇ ਵਿਚ (ਭਾਵ, ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ, ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਵਿਚ) ਪ੍ਰੋ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
Nanak sees that they are all strung on the same thread. ||3||

Pauree:
ਹਰਿਜੀਮਾਤਾਹਰਿਜੀਪਿਤਾਹਰਿਜੀਉਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ (ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
The Dear Lord is my mother, the Dear Lord is my father; the Dear Lord cherishes and nurtures me.
ਹਰਿਜੀਮੇਰੀਸਾਰਕਰੇਹਮਹਰਿਕੇਬਾਲਕ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਾਂ।
The Dear Lord takes care of me; I am the child of the Lord.
ਸਹਜੇਸਹਜਿਖਿਲਾਇਦਾਨਹੀਕਰਦਾਆਲਕ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰੀ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਖੇਡ ਖਿਡਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਗੱਲੋਂ ਰਤਾ ਭੀ) ਆਲਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
Slowly and steadily, He feeds me; He never fails.
ਅਉਗਣੁਕੋਨਚਿਤਾਰਦਾਗਲਸੇਤੀਲਾਇਕ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਔਗੁਣ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦਾ, (ਸਦਾ) ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
He does not remind me of my faults; He hugs me close in His embrace.
ਮੁਹਿਮੰਗਾਂਸੋਈਦੇਵਦਾਹਰਿਪਿਤਾਸੁਖਦਾਇਕ॥
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੈਂ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਖ-ਦਾਈ ਪਿਤਾ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹੀ ਉਹੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whatever I ask for, He gives me; the Lord is my peace-giving father.
