ਗੁਰੁਸਿਮਰਤਸਭਿਕਿਲਵਿਖਨਾਸਹਿ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Meditating in remembrance on the Guru, all the sins are erased.
ਗੁਰੁਸਿਮਰਤਜਮਸੰਗਿਨਫਾਸਹਿ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਜੀਵ) ਜਮ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਸਦੇ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
Meditating in remembrance on the Guru, one is not strangled by the noose of Death.
ਗੁਰੁਸਿਮਰਤਮਨੁਨਿਰਮਲੁਹੋਵੈਗੁਰੁਕਾਟੇਅਪਮਾਨਾਹੇ॥੨॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦੀ) ਨਿਰਾਦਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
Meditating in remembrance on the Guru, the mind becomes immaculate; the Guru eliminates egotistical pride. ||2||
ਗੁਰਕਾਸੇਵਕੁਨਰਕਿਨਜਾਏ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ,
The Guru's servant is not consigned to hell.
ਗੁਰਕਾਸੇਵਕੁਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁਧਿਆਏ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Guru's servant meditates on the Supreme Lord God.
ਗੁਰਕਾਸੇਵਕੁਸਾਧਸੰਗੁਪਾਏਗੁਰੁਕਰਦਾਨਿਤਜੀਅਦਾਨਾਹੇ॥੩॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ (ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
The Guru's servant joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; the Guru ever gives the life of the soul. ||3||
ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੈਹਰਿਕੀਰਤਨੁਸੁਣੀਐ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ,
At the Gurdwara, the Guru's Gate, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are sung.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਭੇਟਿਹਰਿਜਸੁਮੁਖਿਭਣੀਐ॥
ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਜਸ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਉਚਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਇਹ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
Meeting with the True Guru, one chants the Lord's Praises.
ਕਲਿਕਲੇਸਮਿਟਾਏਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਹਰਿਦਰਗਹਦੇਵੈਮਾਨਾਂਹੇ॥੪॥
ਗੁਰੂ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਝਗੜੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਕਾਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
The True Guru eradicates sorrow and suffering, and bestows honor in the Court of the Lord. ||4||
ਅਗਮੁਅਗੋਚਰੁਗੁਰੂਦਿਖਾਇਆ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
The Guru has revealed the inaccessible and unfathomable Lord.
ਭੂਲਾਮਾਰਗਿਸਤਿਗੁਰਿਪਾਇਆ॥
ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਹੀ (ਸਦਾ) ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
The True Guru returns to the Path, those who have wandered away.
ਗੁਰਸੇਵਕਕਉਬਿਘਨੁਨਭਗਤੀਹਰਿਪੂਰਦ੍ਰਿੜੑਾਇਆਗਿਆਨਾਂਹੇ॥੫॥
ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਕੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
No obstacles stand in the way of devotion to the Lord, for one who serves the Guru. The Guru implants perfect spiritual wisdom. ||5||
ਗੁਰਿਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਆਸਭਨੀਠਾਂਈ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਸਭਨੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ)
The Guru has revealed the Lord everywhere.
ਜਲਿਥਲਿਪੂਰਿਰਹਿਆਗੋਸਾਈ॥
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਉੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
The Lord of the Universe is permeating and pervading the water and the land.
ਊਚਊਨਸਭਏਕਸਮਾਨਾਂਮਨਿਲਾਗਾਸਹਜਿਧਿਆਨਾਹੇ॥੬॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੁੜਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
The high and the low are all the same to Him. Focus your mind's meditation intuitively on Him. ||6||
ਗੁਰਿਮਿਲਿਐਸਭਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਬੁਝਾਈ॥
ਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ (ਦੀ ਅੱਗ) ਬੁਝਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Meeting with the Guru, all thirst is quenched.
ਗੁਰਿਮਿਲਿਐਨਹਜੋਹੈਮਾਈ॥
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
Meeting with the Guru, one is not watched by Maya.
ਸਤੁਸੰਤੋਖੁਦੀਆਗੁਰਿਪੂਰੈਨਾਮੁਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁਪੀਪਾਨਾਂਹੇ॥੭॥
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਆਪ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
The Perfect Guru bestows truth and contentment; I drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||7||
ਗੁਰਕੀਬਾਣੀਸਭਮਾਹਿਸਮਾਣੀ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ,
The Word of the Guru's Bani is contained in all.
ਆਪਿਸੁਣੀਤੈਆਪਿਵਖਾਣੀ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਆਪ ਸੁਣੀ ਅਤੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਹੈ।
He Himself hears it, and He Himself repeats it.
ਜਿਨਿਜਿਨਿਜਪੀਤੇਈਸਭਿਨਿਸਤ੍ਰੇਤਿਨਪਾਇਆਨਿਹਚਲਥਾਨਾਂਹੇ॥੮॥
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹੇਠ) ਡੋਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
Those who meditate on it, are all emancipated; they attain the eternal and unchanging home. ||8||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਕੀਮਹਿਮਾਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਜਾਣੈ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਉੱਚ-ਆਤਮਕਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ (ਹੀ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Glory of the True Guru is known only to the True Guru.
ਜੋਕਿਛੁਕਰੇਸੁਆਪਣਭਾਣੈ॥
(ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whatever He does, is according to the Pleasure of His Will.
ਸਾਧੂਧੂਰਿਜਾਚਹਿਜਨਤੇਰੇਨਾਨਕਸਦਕੁਰਬਾਨਾਂਹੇ॥੯॥੧॥੪॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੯॥੧॥੪॥
Your humble servants beg for the dust of the feet of the Holy; Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You. ||9||1||4||
ਮਾਰੂਸੋਲਹੇਮਹਲਾ੫॥
ਰਾਗ ਮਾਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ 'ਸੋਹਲੇ' (੧੬ ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ)।
Maaroo, Solahas, Fifth Mahalaa:
ੴਸਤਿਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਆਦਿਨਿਰੰਜਨੁਪ੍ਰਭੁਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ॥
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਸਰੂਪ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ,
The Primal, Immaculate Lord God is formless.
ਸਭਮਹਿਵਰਤੈਆਪਿਨਿਰਾਰਾ॥
ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Detached Lord is Himself prevailing in all.
ਵਰਨੁਜਾਤਿਚਿਹਨੁਨਹੀਕੋਈਸਭਹੁਕਮੇਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਉਪਾਇਦਾ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ (ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਦਿਕ) ਵਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕੋਈ ਜਾਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕੋਈ ਚਿਹਨ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
He has no race or social class, no identifying mark. By the Hukam of His Will, He created the entire universe. ||1||
ਲਖਚਉਰਾਸੀਹਜੋਨਿਸਬਾਈ॥
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ-
Out of all the 8.4 million species of beings,
ਮਾਣਸਕਉਪ੍ਰਭਿਦੀਈਵਡਿਆਈ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
God blessed mankind with glory.
ਇਸੁਪਉੜੀਤੇਜੋਨਰੁਚੂਕੈਸੋਆਇਜਾਇਦੁਖੁਪਾਇਦਾ॥੨॥
ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਪੌੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
That human who misses this chance, shall suffer the pains of coming and going in reincarnation. ||2||
ਕੀਤਾਹੋਵੈਤਿਸੁਕਿਆਕਹੀਐ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ)
What should I say, to one who has been created.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਨਾਮੁਪਦਾਰਥੁਲਹੀਐ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh receives the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਜਿਸੁਆਪਿਭੁਲਾਏਸੋਈਭੂਲੈਸੋਬੂਝੈਜਿਸਹਿਬੁਝਾਇਦਾ॥੩॥
(ਪਰ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਸਤਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਸਮਝਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
He alone is confused, whom the Lord Himself confuses. He alone understands, whom the Lord inspires to understand. ||3||
ਹਰਖਸੋਗਕਾਨਗਰੁਇਹੁਕੀਆ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਗਰ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
This body has been made the village of joy and sorrow.
ਸੇਉਬਰੇਜੋਸਤਿਗੁਰਸਰਣੀਆ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
They alone are emancipated, who seek the Sanctuary of the True Guru.
ਤ੍ਰਿਹਾਗੁਣਾਤੇਰਹੈਨਿਰਾਰਾਸੋਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਸੋਭਾਪਾਇਦਾ॥੪॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਾਲਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
One who remains untouched by the three qualities, the three gunas - such a Gurmukh is blessed with glory. ||4||
ਅਨਿਕਕਰਮਕੀਏਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ॥
(ਨਾਮ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਤੀਰਥ-ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਭਾਵੇਂ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬਥੇਰੇ (ਮਿਥੇ ਹੋਏ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ) ਕਰਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ,
You can do anything,
ਜੋਕੀਜੈਸੋਬੰਧਨੁਪੈਰੇ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਾਹੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
but whatever you do, only serves to tie your feet.
ਕੁਰੁਤਾਬੀਜੁਬੀਜੇਨਹੀਜੰਮੈਸਭੁਲਾਹਾਮੂਲੁਗਵਾਇਦਾ॥੫॥
(ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਕਰਮ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ,) ਬੇ-ਬਹਾਰਾ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੀਜ ਉੱਗਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖੱਟੀ ਭੀ ਗਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਰਾਸ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਭੀ ਗਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
The seed which is planted out of season does not sprout, and all one's capital and profits are lost. ||5||
ਕਲਜੁਗਮਹਿਕੀਰਤਨੁਪਰਧਾਨਾ॥
(ਜੁਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਭੀ) ਕਲਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਹੀ ਪਰਧਾਨ ਕਰਮ ਹੈ।
In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are most sublime and exalted.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜਪੀਐਲਾਇਧਿਆਨਾ॥
(ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
