ਮਾਨੋ ਉੱਚੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਉਤੋਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੱਪ ਦਾ ਖਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਾਂ (ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ) ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੯੭॥
It seemed that a crow eaten by a dreadful snake hath fallen on the earth from the lofty mountain.197.,
ऊच धराधर ऊपर ते गिरिओ काक कराल भुजंगम खाइओ ॥१९७॥
ਬੀਰਨਿਸੁੰਭਕੋਦੈਤਬਲੀਇਕਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤੁਰੰਗਗਇਓਰਨਿਸਾਮੁਹਿ॥
ਵੀਰ (ਨਾਇਕ) ਨਿਸ਼ੁੰਭ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਦੈਂਤ, ਘੋੜਾ ਭਜਾ ਕੇ ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ (ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ) ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
One powerful demon-warrior of Nisumbh, speeding his horse, went in front of the battlefield.,
बीर निसुंभ को दैत बली इक प्रेरि तुरंग गइओ रनि सामुहि ॥
ਦੇਖਤਧੀਰਜਨਾਹਿਰਹੈਅਬਿਕੋਸਮਰਥਹੈਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਜਾਮਹਿ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਧੀਰਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ, ਹੁਣ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਕਤ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੈਂਤ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰੇ)।
On seeing him, one loses his composure, who is then so powerful as to try to go before this demon?
देखत धीरज नाहि रहै अबि को समरथ है बिक्रम जा महि ॥
ਚੰਡਿਲੈਪਾਨਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਹਨੇਅਰਿਫੇਰਿਦਈਸਿਰਦਾਨਵਤਾਮਹਿ॥
ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ) ਵੈਰੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ (ਉਹ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ) ਉਸ ਦੈਂਤ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ (ਵਲ) ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
Chandi, taking her sword in her hand, hath killed many enemies, and at the same time, she struck on the head of this demon.,
चंडि लै पानि क्रिपान हने अरि फेरि दई सिर दानव ता महि ॥
ਮੁੰਡਹਿਤੁੰਡਹਿਰੁੰਡਹਿਚੀਰਿਪਲਾਨਕਿਕਾਨਧਸੀਬਸੁਧਾਮਹਿ॥੧੯੮॥
(ਉਹ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਦੈਂਤ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਨੂੰ, ਮੂੰਹ ਨੂੰ, ਧੜ ਨੂੰ, (ਘੋੜੇ ਦੇ) ਪਲਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ, ਘੋੜੇ (ਕਿਕਾਨ) ਨੂੰ ਚੀਰ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਧਸ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੯੮॥
This sword piercing the head, the face, the trunk, the saddle and the horse hath thrust into the earth.198.,
मुंडहि तुंडहि रुंडहि चीरि पलान किकान धसी बसुधा महि ॥१९८॥
ਇਉਜਬਦੈਤਹਤਿਓਬਰਚੰਡਿਸੁਅਉਰਚਲਿਓਰਨਮਧਿਪਚਾਰੇ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, (ਤਾਂ ਇਕ) ਹੋਰ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਲਲਕਾਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਣ ਵਲ ਚਲਿਆ।
When the powerful Chandi killed that demon in this way, then another demon shouting loudly came forward in the battlefield.,
इउ जब दैत हतिओ बर चंडि सु अउर चलिओ रन मधि पचारे ॥
ਕੇਹਰਿਕੇਸਮੁਹਾਇਰਿਸਾਇਕੈਧਾਇਕੈਘਾਇਦੁਤੀਨਕਝਾਰੇ॥
ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਭਜ ਕੇ ਦੋ ਤਿੰਨ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Going in front of the lion and running in anger, he inflicted on him two-three wounds.,
केहरि के समुहाइ रिसाइ कै धाइ कै घाइ दु तीनक झारे ॥
ਚੰਡਿਲਈਕਰਵਾਰਸੰਭਾਰਹਕਾਰਕੈਸੀਸਦਈਬਲੁਧਾਰੇ॥
ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਵਲ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
Chandi held up her sword and shouting loudly with great force, she struck it on the head of the demon.,
चंडि लई करवार संभार हकार कै सीस दई बलु धारे ॥
ਜਾਇਪਰਿਓਸਿਰਦੂਰਪਰਾਇਜਿਉਟੂਟਤਅੰਬੁਬਯਾਰਕੇਮਾਰੇ॥੧੯੯॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਸਿਰ (ਕਟ ਕੇ) ਦੂਰ ਜਾ ਪਿਆ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਝੋਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਬ ਟੁਟ ਕੇ (ਜਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧੯੯॥
His head fell far away like the mangoes by the violent wind.199.,
जाइ परिओ सिर दूर पराइ जिउ टूटत अंबु बयार के मारे ॥१९९॥
ਜਾਨਿਨਿਦਾਨਕੋਜੁਧੁਬਨਿਓਰਨਿਦੈਤਸਬੂਹਸਬੈਉਠਿਧਾਏ॥
ਅੰਤ ਦਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਲ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਰਣ ਵਲ ਭਜ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
Consider the war at its peak, all the division of the army of demons are running towards the battlefield.,
जानि निदान को जुधु बनिओ रनि दैत सबूह सबै उठि धाए ॥
ਸਾਰਸੋਸਾਰਕੀਮਾਰਮਚੀਤਬਕਾਇਰਛਾਡਕੈਖੇਤਪਰਾਏ॥
ਲੋਹੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਹਾ ਵਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਦੋਂ ਕਾਇਰ ਲੋਕ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The steel collided with steel and the cowards fled away andleft the battlefield.,
सार सो सार की मार मची तब काइर छाड कै खेत पराए ॥
ਚੰਡਿਕੇਖਗਗਦਾਲਗਿਦਾਨਵਰੰਚਕਰੰਚਕਹੁਇਤਨਆਏ॥
ਚੰਡੀ ਦੀ ਖੜਗ ਅਤੇ ਗਦਾ ਵਜਣ ਨਾਲ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਪੁਰਜ਼ਾ ਪੁਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। (ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ)
With the blows of the sword and mace of Chandi, the bodies of demons have fallen in fragments.,
चंडि के खग गदा लगि दानव रंचक रंचक हुइ तन आए ॥
ਮੂੰਗਰਲਾਇਹਲਾਇਮਨੋਤਰੁਕਾਛੀਨੇਪੇਡਤੇਤੂਤਗਿਰਾਏ॥੨੦੦॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਸੋਟਾ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਣ ਕੇ ਮਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਤੋਂ ਤੂਤ ਡਿਗਾਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੨੦੦॥
It seems that the gardener hath shaken and even thrashed with wooden pestles, the mulberry tree hath caused the fall of its fruit.200.,
मूंगर लाइ हलाइ मनो तरु काछी ने पेड ते तूत गिराए ॥२००॥
ਪੇਖਿਚਮੂੰਬਹੁਦੈਤਨਕੀਪੁਨਿਚੰਡਿਕਾਆਪਨੇਸਸਤ੍ਰਸੰਭਾਰੇ॥
ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਲੇ ਹਨ।

ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਚੰਦਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੇਲੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਚੀਰ (ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ) ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਗਾਰ ਕੇ ਪਟਕਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ।

बीरन के तन चीरि पचीर से दैत हकार पछारि संघारे ॥
ਘਾਉਲਗੇਤਿਨਕੋਰਨਭੂਮਿਮੈਟੂਟਪਰੇਧਰਤੇਸਿਰਨਿਆਰੇ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਘਾਓ ਲਗੇ ਹਨ (ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਧੜ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅਲਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ। (ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ)

घाउ लगे तिन को रन भूमि मै टूट परे धर ते सिर निआरे ॥
ਜੁਧਸਮੈਸੁਤਭਾਨਮਨੋਸਸਿਕੇਸਭਟੂਕਜੁਦੇਕਰਡਾਰੇ॥੨੦੧॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ (ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ) ਛਨਿਛਰ ਨੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਵਖਰੇ ਵਖਰੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੨੦੧॥

ਚੰਡਿਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਤਬੈਬਲਧਾਰਿਸੰਭਾਰਿਲਈਕਰਵਾਰਕਰੀਕਰਿ॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹਤਾ (ਕਰੀ) ਪੂਰਵਕ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਈ

चंडि प्रचंड तबै बल धारि संभारि लई करवार करी करि ॥
ਕੋਪਦਈਅਨਿਸੁੰਭਕੇਸੀਸਿਬਹੀਇਹਭਾਤਰਹੀਤਰਵਾਤਰਿ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਿਸ਼ੁੰਭ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ (ਉਤੇ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ) ਜੋ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਲਵਿਆਂ ਤਕ ਜਾ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ।

कोप दईअ निसुंभ के सीसि बही इह भात रही तरवा तरि ॥
ਕਉਨਸਰਾਹਿਕਰੈਕਹਿਤਾਛਿਨਸੋਬਿਬਹੋਇਪਰੈਧਰਨੀਪਰ॥
ਕੌਣ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਛਿਣ (ਦੇ ਵਾਰ) ਦੀ (ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੈਂਤ) ਦੋ ਫਾੜ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ।
Who can appreciate such blow? At the came instant that demon hath fallen on the earth in two halves.,
कउन सराहि करै कहि ता छिन सो बिब होइ परै धरनी पर ॥
ਮਾਨਹੁਸਾਰਕੀਤਾਰਲੈਹਾਥਿਚਲਾਈਹੈਸਾਬੁਨਕੋਸਬੁਨੀਗਰ॥੨੦੨॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਸਾਬਣ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੀ ਤਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਾਬਨ ਉਤੇ ਚਲਾਈ ਹੈ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ) ॥੨੦੨॥
