ਹਵਾਇ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਆਵੁਰਦ ਦਰ ਵਜੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।
ਭਜਨ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ
The attraction of meditation and religious devotion brought me into this world,
हवाइ बंदगी आवुरद दर वजूद मरा ।
ਵਗਰਨਾ ਜ਼ੋਕਿ ਚੁਨੀਂ ਨ ਬੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੧।
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੌਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ।
Otherwise, I had no urge to come. (1) (1)
वगरना ज़ोकि चुनीं न बूद मरा ।१।
ਖੁਸ਼ ਅਸਤ ਉਮਰ ਕਿਹ ਦਰ ਯਾਦ ਬਿਗੁਜ਼ਰਦ ਵਰਨਾ ।
ਕਿੰਨੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਯੂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸਾਂਈ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਜ਼ਰੇ,
Only that part of my life is useful and happy that is spent in remembering the Akaalpurakh
खुश असत उमर किह दर याद बिगुज़रद वरना ।
ਚਿ ਹਾਸਲ ਅਸਤ ਅਜ਼ੀਣ ਗੁੰਬਦਿ ਕਬੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੨।
ਨਹੀਣ ਤਾ ਭਲਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨੀਲੇ ਗੁੰਬਦ (ਅਸਮਾਨ, ਦੁਨੀਆ) ਤੋਣ ਕੀ ਫਾਇਦਾ#
Otherwise what is the benefit to me from this blue sky or the world. (1) (2)
चि हासल असत अज़ीण गुंबदि कबूद मरा ।२।
ਦਰਾਂ ਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਕਿ ਨਿਆਈ ਬ-ਯਾਦ ਮੀ-ਮਰਮ ।
ਜ਼ਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਆੳਂੁਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਮਰ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
For any moment that you are out of my remembrance, I feel that I am dying,
दरां ज़मां कि निआई ब-याद मी-मरम ।
ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਯਾਦਿ ਤੂ ਜ਼ੀਂ ਜ਼ੀਸਤਨ ਚਿਹ ਸੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੩।
ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜੀਊਣ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਕੀ ਫਾਇਦਾ ।
What is the purpose of my life (it became worthless) without your reminiscence.(1) (3)
बग़ैर यादि तू ज़ीं ज़ीसतन चिह सूद मरा ।३।
ਫ਼ਿਦਾਸਤ ਜਾਨੋ ਦਿਲਿ ਮਨ ਬ-ਖ਼ਾਕਿ ਮਰਦਮਿ ਪਾਕ ।
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਉਸ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਣ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਤੋਣ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਨ,
I can sacrifice my heart and soul uninhibitedly for (the dust of the feet of) this holy person
फ़िदासत जानो दिलि मन ब-क़ाकि मरदमि पाक ।
ਹਰ ਆਂ ਕਸੇ ਕਿਹ ਬੂ-ਸੂਇ ਤੂ ਰਹਿ ਨਮੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੪।
ਜਿਸਨੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ।
Who has shown me the way to You, the Akaalpurakh. (1) (4)
हर आं कसे किह बू-सूइ तू रहि नमूद मरा ।४।
ਨਬੂਦ ਹੀਚ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਹਾ ਜ਼ਿ-ਆਸਮਾਨੋ ਜ਼ਮੀਂ ।
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤਾਣ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਹੀਣ ਸੀ,
There was no sign-posts on the Pilgrim's way through earth or sky at that time,
नबूद हीच निशान हा ज़ि-आसमानो ज़मीं ।
ਕਿ ਸ਼ੌਕਿ ਰੂਇ ਤੂ ਆਵੁਰਦ ਦਰ ਸਜੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੫।
ਜਦੋਣ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੋਕ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਜਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਡੇਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ ।
When my longing for Your glimpse made me prostrate in Your honor. (1) (5)
कि शौकि रूइ तू आवुरद दर सजूद मरा ।५।
ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਯਾਦਿ ਤੂ ਗੋਯਾ ਨਮੀ ਤਵਾਨਮ ਜ਼ੀਸਤ ।
ਐ ਗੋਯਾ# ਮੈਣ ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਬਿਨਾਣ ਜਿਉ ਨਹੀਣ ਸਕਦਾ ,
O Goya! "I cannot live without Your remembrance, If pining for you ceases, then an end to life is the only thing coveted;
I will be free then to move in the direction of my Beloved." (1) (6)
बग़ैर यादि तू गोया नमी तवानम ज़ीसत ।
ਬਸੂਇ ਦੋਸਤ ਰਹਾਈ ਦਿਹੰਦ ਜ਼ੂਦ ਮਰਾ ।੬।੧।
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜਨ ਵਲ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ।
Both the religion and the actions of the world are in the grip of my beloved, handsome and fairy-faced friend.
